Vream

Privacy Policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

Vream is a dream journal for adults, made by Fernara Inc. A dream can be the most private thing a person says all day, so this page says plainly what happens to yours. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads and we do not track you across other apps.

What Vream collects

  • What you tell it. Voice recordings, the words you write, the notes on the back of your Polaroids, the dates you stamp on them, and what you ask The Voice.
  • What Vream makes from that. Transcripts, Polaroid pictures and captions, readings, a short summary and mood for each dream, Threads, and facts about your life that you told The Voice so it can remember them.
  • Your account. The identifier Sign in with Apple gives us, and your name and email if Apple shares them. You can hide your email from us when you sign in.
  • Your subscription. Which plan you have and when it renews or ends. Apple handles payment, so we never see your card.
  • Technical records. Our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs, which can include your IP address, to keep the service running and secure. The app also looks up your general region from your IP address to show notices the law requires in some places. That lookup is not stored.

Vream only uses the microphone while you are telling a dream. The words you see appear as you speak are made by Apple's speech recognition, on your phone where your phone supports it and through Apple where it does not. Vream has no analytics or advertising tools inside it.

Sensitive things you choose to tell it

Vream never asks about your health, sexuality, beliefs or anything like that. But dreams can touch on all of it, and whatever you say is yours to say. If you include something sensitive, we use it only to give you what you asked for, the same as everything else, and never for advertising. We do not sell it.

We do not create voiceprints or use your voice to identify you. Your recording is kept so you can play it back. Vream is not a health care provider, so health privacy laws like HIPAA do not apply to it.

What you tell Vream is not protected the way talking to a doctor, therapist or lawyer is. We keep it private, but we can be required to hand over data by a valid court order or other legal process.

How it is used

Only to run Vream for you: to transcribe your voice, read your dream, develop its Polaroids, play it back, answer your questions, find what connects your dreams, send the reminders you asked for, and keep your subscription working. We do not use your dreams to train any AI model.

Who it goes to

Vream relies on a few companies to work. Each one only gets what it needs, only to provide its service to us, and is bound to protect your data at least as well as this policy does.

  • OpenAI receives your recordings, your words and notes, your questions, and the earlier dreams and facts needed to answer them. It transcribes your voice, writes your readings and answers, and makes your pictures. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models. It may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes it unless the law requires otherwise.
  • Supabase stores your account, your dreams, your recordings and your pictures in the United States.
  • RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription under a random account number.
  • Apple handles Sign in with Apple, payments, notifications and speech recognition.
  • Vercel hosts this website, including any page you choose to share.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, to defend legal claims, or where we believe it is needed to protect someone's safety, though we have no duty to monitor what you tell Vream or to act on it. If Fernara Inc. or Vream is sold or merged, your data can pass to the new owner under this policy, and we will tell you first.

Your choices

  • Turn off the microphone or notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
  • Write instead of speaking, so no recording is made.
  • Share a dream only if you want to. Nothing leaves your account for anyone else to see unless you create a link.

Shared links

When you share a dream or a reading, Vream makes a copy of what you chose on a public page. Anyone with the link can see it, and it does not show your name. Your note is only included if you say so. You can stop sharing at any time from the same button, and the page goes away within a few minutes. Someone who already saw it may have kept a copy.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

Your dreams stay until you delete them with your account. In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. That removes your recordings, Polaroids, readings, conversations, memories, shared pages and account right away, and any backup copy is gone within 30 days. It does not cancel your Apple subscription, so cancel that first in Settings.

If you tell a first dream and never sign in, it is deleted automatically after 14 days.

Security

Your data is encrypted on its way to our servers and while stored, your recordings and pictures are kept in private storage that only your account can reach, and our AI key lives on the server, never in the app. No system is perfect, so we cannot promise your data will never be accessed without permission. If a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires. Keep your phone locked, because anyone with your unlocked phone can open Vream.

Children

Vream is only for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under GDPR, UK GDPR and California law, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how it is used. We rely on our agreement with you to provide the service, and on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. Your data is processed in the United States. To use any of these rights, write to hello@fernara.com. You can also complain to your local privacy authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
